- That depends entirely on the MIPS CPU you are using. Comparing an
- R3000/33 to a Pentium 133 will be a sad story any day of the week. On the
- other hand, a 250 MHz R4400 with 2 megs of secondary cache will beat a
- Pentium any time. Too bad the system built around it costs as much (even
- with discount) as 4-5 fully equipped Pentium-166 systems (~$20,000 for a
- high end Indy or Indigo^2--including 30% edu. discount).
